SSC results today

News Report: Results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent exams will be published today, sans campus rejoicing for a hard reality of life everywhere. Examinees would get their results online and via SMS this year as the authorities decided to avoid the traditional method because of coronavirus situation, said education ministry officials. Over 13.23 lakh examinees and their guardians who registered earlier would receive their results on their phones via SMS. The rest can see their results online. Prof Ziaul Haque, chairman of Dhaka Education Board, said those who pre- registered would get their results between 12:00 noon and 1:00pm. "All preparations for publishing the results have been completed," said Ziaul, also the head of inter-board coordination committee. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will announce the results through videoconferencing in the morning and Education Minister Dipu Moni will later hold a press conference on the results through Facebook, said Mohammad Abul Khair, public relations officer of the education ministry. This year, the secondary-level exams began on February 3, with the theoretical and practical tests ending on February 27 and on March 6 respectively. The government had earlier planned to publish the results on May 7 or May 8, but could not make it for school closure due to Covid-19. Some 2,047,779 students took part in the SSC and equivalent exams held at 3,512 centres. Like in the previous years, results will be also available on education-board websites. Examinees can get the results from the education board website -- http://www.educationboardresults.gov .bd/.
