CCC Mayor at 54th Annual General Meet

Chattogram Bureau CHATTOGRAM, Jan 24: Chattogram City Mayor AJM Nasiruddin said, the city corporation would maintain zero tolerance against kitchen markets and hawker stalls illegally set up on CCC-owned land. “We will not tolerate any such activities as occupying roads, footpaths, drains for keeping bricks, sand, concrete, iron and other construction materials, and setting up makeshift stalls, kitchen markets creating obstacles for pedestrians”, he observed. These practices are also responsible for environment pollution and hamper beautification projects of the city government, the mayor continued as he claimed that these are against interest of citizens and illegal. The mayor warned of conducting mobile courts against such activities and punishment for those responsible. He was speaking while presiding over the 54th General Meeting of elected 5th council of Chattogram City Corporation at CCC Theater Institute as chief guest. CCC panel Mayor, councilors , ward councilors of reserved seats, CCC Chief Executive Md. Shamshudduha, Chief Engr. Lt. Col. Sohel Ahmed, Chief revenue officer Mofidul Alam, Chief Education Officer Sumon Barua, Chief Health Officer Dr. Selim Akhter Chy, private secretary of mayor Md. Abul Hashem, spl Magistrate (jt jila judge) Jahanara Ferdous, Executive Magistrate Afia Akhter and other officials were present on the occasion. CCC secretary Abu Shahed Chowdhury conducted the meeting.
