CCCI underscores work on G2G basis

Chattogram Bureau: Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industry presdient Mahbubul Alam on Saturday said India is the second-biggest business partner of Bangladesh. However, in a bilateral trade volume of $10b, export from Bangladesh is only $1.4b. In order to reduce this trade deficit, it is necessary to work on G2G basis in matters of tax, non-tax, taxation system and certification. He said these while speaking at a view-exchange meeting on bilateral issues between the Confederation Of Indian Industry and CCCI at Bangabandhu Conference Hall of World Trade Centre in the city. Chandra Shekhar Ghose, Founder of Bandan Bank led a delegation of 14 members of the organization. Trade and commerce between Bangladesh and India is increasing day by day, he observed as he informed the interest of Indian businesses and entrepreneurs to invest in Bangladesh. CCCI directors including Sayed Jamal Ahmed, AKM Akhter Hossain, Md. Ohid Siraj Chowdhury (Swapan), Md. Zahurul Alam and Nazmul Karim Chowdhury Sharun were present on the occason.
