Boucher named South Africa head coach

Mark Boucher’s appointment as South Africa’s men’s team coach was confirmed on Saturday. The former wicketkeeper-batter has been contracted until after the 2023 World Cup, reports Cricbuzz. Enoch Nkwe, who took the team to India in October as interim team director, was named assistant coach, with former selection convener Linda Zondi returning as an independent member of a panel that will also feature captain Faf du Plessis, Boucher and Nkwe. On Monday (December 16), they will announce South Africa’s squad for the first two Tests of their four-match series against England, that starts in Centurion on December 26. The announcements were made by Graeme Smith, who on Wednesday was named Cricket South Africa’s director of cricket for the next three months.
