News Special: An entomological study again forewarns that still waters in Dhaka's unclean canals and ditches are thick with mosquito larvae and rain could bring swarms of mosquito. If rain comes, dengue may not be far off. "I've never seen such prevalence of culex mosquito as seen this year in Dhaka. You will not find any drain, canal wherein culex mosquito is not densely present," said Dr Kabirul Bashar, an entomologist, who had led last year's survey under the aegis of health department and warned the city corporations in advance. This February again they conducted a survey and came up with similar forewarning. Mosquito larvae remain dormant during dry season and get germinated with rainfall.
