News Report: Next school admissions will be done through lottery while SSC and HSC examinations may be delayed, as pandemic corona upended normal order in life and business worldwide. Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations would be delayed in 2021 as the coronavirus pandemic is still prevailing across the country. “Brief syllabuses of three months have been prepared for the next year’s SSC and HSC candidates. We want to have them attend classes on the syllabuses. Therefore, the SSC and HSC exams would be delayed,” the minister told a virtual press briefing Wednesday. The exams will be held after completing the short syllabuses, Dipu Moni said, adding that after reopening the educational institutions maintaining the health guidelines, classes will be held six days a week to complete the syllabuses. Admission to classes for the next academic session will be conducted through lottery due to the Covid-19 situation, she said. Quota for admission of local students has been raised to 50 percent instead of previous 40 percent, the minister said.
