News Report Bangladesh witnesses unsteady transmission waves of the virus as daily corona deaths came down to 21 while infections little rode to 1,508. The corona prevalence in Bangladesh still stays on a high plateau as the country counted 32 daily deaths and 1,436 infections Wednesday. Twenty-one people have died from covid-19 in the country during the last 24 hours, according to a press release issued Thursday by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), taking the toll now to 52,51. The death rate stands at 1.44 percent. A total of 1,508 new infections were recorded, in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 364,987, added the release. The current positivity rate rose to 13.2 from 10.71 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 18.63 percent. A lower total of 11,420 samples were tested across the country in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, 1,591 covid-19 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours.The total number of recoveries stands at 277,078 and the recovery rate at 75.91 percent. Among the 21 deceased, 16 were male and five female while one was between 41-50 years old, six within 51-60 and 14 were above 60 years old, added the release. Amid apprehension of a winter wave of transmission, western countries are getting armed with vaccines and curatives as well as containment measures. Bangladesh health minister Zahid Maleque said, "We are keeping in touch with all concerned so we can get vaccines in time.
