New governor of Rotary Rubayet takes charge today

Rotarian Md Rubayet Hossain is going to take over the charge of District Governor of Rotary from today (Wednesday). Besides many challenges created by the ongoing corona pandemic, he will leading Rotary Bangladesh which includes 240 Rotary Clubs with more than 6,700 Rotarians. This is regarded as one of the biggest Rotaries in the world. Governor Rubayet, popularly known for his creativity and foresightedness, has taken the theme of this year's Rotary International President Holger Knaack from Germany "Rotary Opens Opportunities". He has already begun to turn the crisis into opportunities. He established telemedicine service called, "Rotary Medical Support Centre" for general treatment, with a pool of 40+ doctors of different discipline. He has also introduced "Meals Everyday" programme for the destitute hungry people, who can't work due to the Covid crisis. By this time, more than 50,000-cooked food packs have been distributed and today will be distributed 30,000 packs in a single day. Both the programmes will be continuing until the crisis is over. New Governor has started his journey by making his team used to online tools and arranged all the Rotary International mandatory training programmes on ZOOM platform quite successfully. Five topmost world Rotary leaders joined those trainings virtually and three more will be joining today's ceremony. Besides this, he is going to create historical mark with the contribution from 100 per cent club Presidents for distressed people to The Rotary Foundation in the Year Launching Ceremony on 1stof July2020. To help coping with the treatment of the Covid patients, he is working to established Oxygen & Plasma banks at different places of Bangladesh.
