Liberation War Affairs Minister's wife passes away

Laila Arjumand Banu, the wife of Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, passed away on Monday morning after being infected with coronavirus. She was 71. Laila Arjumand Banu breathed her last around 7:45 am while undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital in the city, said a press release of the Liberation War Affairs Ministry, reports BSS. Mozammel Haque and his wife were admitted to the hospital on June 13 last after they were diagnosed with coronavirus. Although the minister returned home after his recovery, but his wife was undergoing treatment at the hospital as her condition was in critical. Laila Arjumand Banu is survived by husband, two daughters, one son, six grandchildren and a host of well-wishers. Her namaj-e-janaza will be held at a ground adjacent to Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) central graveyard after Asr prayers. Born on January 6 in 1949 to an aristocratic Muslim family in Gazipur, Laila Arjumand Banu was involved in teaching for a long time.
