DMP initiates watering city roads

News Report Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) started spraying antibacterial solution through water cannons in its eight separate crime divisions in the city to help stop COVID-19 spreading. The arrangement was ordered by DMP Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam, according to a statement released. DMP started spraying antibacterial solution through water cannons from 10am on Wednesday. Eight water cannons spraying disinfectants twice daily from Wednesday in a bid to ensure the health of city dwellers, said Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of DMP. He said "We will continue spraying disinfectant twice daily in Gulshan, Lalbagh, Mirpur, Motijheel, Ramna, Tejgaon , Uttara and Wari divisions to ensure sterile environment for the safety of the citizens". The first spell held from 10am-12pm and the second session begin at 4pm and end at 6pm under 50 police stations, he said, adding the spraying will continue until further notice. The arrangement will remain in effect until further notice, the statement said. City dwellers have been asked to cooperate with the initiative.
