Apart from outer changes there have been a number of inner transformations that put modern guys in a unique position - they are no longer denied their feminine side and the need to supress emotions is also fading away. Boys that aren't devoid of father's love in their childhood grow up to be more empathetic and less egoistic, while girls tend to be more active. The code of honour is gone Knights, brotherhoods, scouts - all these things are having close to no impact on modern men, leaving them with no rules to follow, free to decide what's good and bad, shameful or not, for themselves.
