Hasan to open broadcasting programme in Delhi

News Desk Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud arrived in New Delhi on Monday evening on a four-day official visit to inaugurate broadcasting programme between Prosher Bharati, the public-service broadcaster in India, and Bangladesh Betar. He will also hold bilateral meeting with the Information and Broadcasting Minister of India Prakash Javadekar this (Tuesday) morning. During the meeting, the two ministers are expected to discuss various issues including further strengthening people-to-people contact and increasing cultural cooperation between the people of the two neighbouring countries, reports BSS. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the films development corporations of the two countries is likely to be signed on producing a documentary on Bangladesh's founding father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Besides, the information minister will visit Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad on Wednesday to gather experience aimed at upgrading Bangabandhu Film City in Bangladesh to an international standard modern film city. The minister is scheduled to join a dinner to be hosted by Bangladesh High Commission at its premises in his honour. He is accompanied by the senior officials of the ministry, Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC). Bangladesh Television, the state-owned TV channel, had started telecasting its programmes across India through Doordarshan, India for the first time in Bangladesh's history on September 2, last year after Dr Hasan Mahmud took over the charge of the ministry of Information.
