DU launches cleanliness campaign

Dhaka University (DU) authority launched a year-long cleanliness programme to make the campus clean and green marking both the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and golden jubilee of the country's independence, reports BSS. DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr Akhtaruzzaman on Sunday inaugurated the year-long programme, jointly organised by Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) and university's State office, on the premises of Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban. DUCSU Assistant General Secretary Saddam Hossein, Science and Technology Affairs Secretary Arif Bin Ali, members of DUCSU Tillottoma Shikder, Farida Parvin and acting manager of the state Supriya Das were also present on the occasion. DUCSU member Md Mahmudul Hasan was assigned as the coordinator of the year-long programme.
