Aminul, Naim impress coach Domingo

NAGPUR, Nov 9: The young players’ performance in the ongoing T20 series against India kept head coach Russell Domingo optimistic about Bangladesh cricket’s good future as he said those players have the potentiality to take the place of the senior players like Mushfiqur Rahim, Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah Riyad and others, reports BSS. He was particularly impressed by the performance of leg-spinner Aminul Islam Biplob, who took four wickets so far in the series and more importantly checked Indian big hitters’ natural flamboyance. Also there is Mohammad Naim who made a good start to the International cricket. Naim though couldn’t convert his start in those two matches, he played handy knocks to give the top order a stability. “I always like a leg spinner. I know Aminul Islam Biplob more of as a batsman who can bowl leg spin. But in the end we have been impressed by his energy and desire, his work effort. He is such a great guy. Even if against Rohit he went for 13, but in the end he bowled 3.5 overs and conceded 23 for two wickets and his last ball went for a six. For a young bowler who is just, 22-23 years old, and performed under that type of pressure was fantastic,” he said. “And about young Naim, his T20 record might not that good. But it’s a great format for us to look and found next group of players coming through. You don’t know how long Tamim, Mushfiqur or Riyad will play. So it’s great opportunity to look out to some younger players. There will be new boy Saif Hsasan will join with us in Test squad. We will see him as well how he trains. It’s good to have young players,” he said. When he was optimistic about the new players, he wants the likes of Liton Das.
