RAB arrests 3 with firearm, yaba in B'baria

Our Correspondent BRAHMANBARIA, July 19: A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-14), Bhairab camp, arrested three persons with a foreign made revolver, three rounds of bullet and 2,790 pieces of yaba pills from Dharabhanga village under Nabinagar upazila of the district recently. Senior Assistant Director Chandan Debnath informed this at a press briefing in the local press club on Thursday. The arrestees are identified as Joynal Abedin alias Drum Babu, 36, Md. Sadek Mia, 22, and Md. Abdullah, 19, all are the residents of Dharabhanga village of the upazila. The RAB official said, a team of the elite force conducted a drive in the guise of customer at the house of Drum Babu around 1:30am on Wednesday and arrested the trio. They also seized 2,790 pieces of yaba pills, a foreign made revolver with three rounds of bullet and 2,500 taka in cash of selling yaba during the drive. A preparation is afoot to hand them over to Nabinagar Police Station and file a case under the act of narcotics control and arms, he added.
