Banglabandh land port activities resume

Our Correspondent PANCHAGARH, June 11: The export and import activities resumed at Banglabandh land port from Monday. Banglabandh port was closed for nine days on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday from June 1. Export-Import Association President Mehedi Hasan Khan Babla told The News Today that all kinds of export and import activities were suspended for nine days between India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan. However Immigration activities for travelers continued on as usual as the land port was open. Port authorities said exports and imports-among Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Bhutan-through the Banglabandh land port resumed on Monday. The Export-Importers Association, Panchagarh C&F Agent Association, Banglabandha Land Port Limited and Labourers Union have taken the decision to cease trading after the nine days, and a letter in this regard has been sent to: exporters, importers, customs clearing houses, and forwarding agents. However, the movement of passport-holder travelers through the check-post remained open as usual said, Banglabandha immigration check post Officer-in-Charge Izar Uddin.
