News Report Like every year, the Global Classroom International Model United Nations Programme (GCIMUN) was held at the United Nations Headquarters from March 28 to March 30. This is basically an educational flagship programme under the UN. Swastika Gargi Chakraborty represented Bangladesh for the first time in Mid-Level (Class V-VIII) section. About 4,000 young leaders from 250 primary schools and 50 thousand high schools of 28 countries participated in GCIMUN. They expressed themselves to each other. Swastika Gargi is the student of Grade-V (English Medium) of Daffodil International School. The United Nations organises this program twice in New York every year. Debates on different issues and views-exchange were held there. ‘When asked about her United Nations travelling Gargi said I am feeling excited and very happy as I went to America to represent the country. This is a great achievement for me as well as respect.’ Gargi has been participating in various socio-cultural and school programmes with reputation. She also received bronze medal in poetry recitation and more than 25 crests for participating in book reading, art, spelling, quiz and world flag drawing contests.
