Thai co to invest $500m in Naf Park

News Report A leading Thai company will invest some $500 million for the infrastructure development of Naf Tourism Park in Teknaf. Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) and Siam Siam International of Thailand signed an agreement for turning the natural island into an exclusive tourism park on Wednesday. BEZA executive member Harunur Rashid and Siam Siam International managing director Kiatkati Somyoth signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations. BEZA executive chairman Paban Chowdhury was present during the signing ceremony held at its office in the city. As per the agreement, the Thai group will create employment for around 12,000 people. The park is designed to have five-star and three-star hotel, gymnasium, resorts, amusement park, live entertainment theatre, mega shopping mall, cinema hall, floating restaurant, water sports beach, golf club, cable car, musical water fountain and many features. Siam Siam international managing director said they will develop the park by phases during the next five years. Work of first phase will be completed by next one and half year.
