TV industry mourns Tazin’s demise

Popular actress Tazin Ahmed breathed her last on May 22 afternoon owing to a heart attack she suffered earlier in the day. She was taken to Regent Hospital in Uttara unconscious around 3:15pm where she took her last breath around 4:30pm. Tazin Ahmed graduated in Mass Communication and Journalism from Dhaka University. She started her career on TV during the mid-nineties. Tazin worked in multiple areas-as a theatre performer, TV actress and anchor, playwright and journalist. Her first TV appearance was on BTV in a drama named "Shesh Dekha Shesh Noy". She continued working in stage theatre too. She had worked for Aranyak Natyadal since 2000. Before that, she worked with Natyajan. Besides acting on the small screen and in theatre, Tazin Ahmed was also known for her work as a director and a TV anchor, as well as a playwright. "Jatak" and "Jogphol" are two plays she wrote and directed. Tazin had worked in Bhorer Kagoj and Prothom Alo as a journalist. She had also worked as a public relations officer at Mercantile Bank. The whole media and TV industry was in a shock due to the passing away of this talented actress so early. Her close colleagues have stormed the social media apps with many experiences they shared with this virtuoso. Many of them also stated that the actress had isolated herself from the media because deep down she was unhappy with many things in her life.
