Two held with 3,170 Yaba tablets

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Jan 12: Members of the elite force- Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-in two separate drives in the district on Thursday arrested two alleged drug peddlers with 3,170 pieces of banned Yaba tablets, reports BSS. RAB sources said the drives were carried out in Chapainawabganj Sadar and Shibganj upazilas. The arrested persons are Md. Kamal Mondol, 40, son of late Abul Hossain of Uttar Uzirpur village under Shibganj upazila and Md. Mostafizur Rahman Dollar, 46, son of Alhaj Habibur Rahman of Ghorapakhia Jhillipara under Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila. Acting on a tip off, an operation team of RAB from Chapainawabganj camp raided the Boglaurighat area under Shibganj upazila around 4-30pm and arrested Kamal Mondol with 1,405 pieces of Yaba tablets. In the other drive, the force held Mostafizur Rahman with 1,765 pieces of Yaba tablets from Ghorapakhia Jhillipara under Sadar upazila at about 7-30pm. Later, the arrestees were handed over to the concerned police stations.
