AL leaders vow to work unitedly for building 'Sonar Bangla'

RANGPUR, Jan 13: Leaders of Awami League (AL) and its associate bodies here recently vowed to work unitedly for building the 'Sonar Bangla' as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, reports BSS. They were addressing a discussion on Bangabandhu jointly organised by district and city units of AL on the premises of Bangabandhu Square in the city to celebrate the Homecoming Day of Bangabandhu. The district and city units of AL and its associate bodies chalked out elaborate daylong programmes to pay due homage to the Architect of Independence Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in celebrations of the day. The programmes included hoisting of the national and party flags atop party offices, placing of wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu, bringing out of a huge rally followed by placing wreaths at the Mural of Bangabandhu and discussion. With President of city AL Shafiar Rahman Shafi in the chair, Acting President of district AL Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed addressed the discussion as the chief guest. General Secretary of district AL Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju, General Secretary of its city unit Tushar Kanti Mandal, Joint General Secretary of district AL Shahinur Rahman Sohel, President of district Chhatra League Mehedi Hassan Siddique Rony spoke. After paying rich tributes to Bangabandhu, the speakers vowed for building a prosperous 'Sonar Bangla' as dreamt by Father of the Nation through making the independence meaningful by fulfilling hopes and aspirations of the common people. Tushar Kanti Mandal said Bangabandhu never bowed to any injustice and sacrificed his whole life for giving the nation dignity, identity and recognition with a flag in the world arena upholding his political ideologies under any circumstances. Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju laid importance on solid unity among leaders and activists of AL and its associate bodies for building a middle income nation by 2021 and developed country by 2041 as envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The chief guest urged party leaders for further strengthening the hands of Prime Minsiter Sheikh Hasina in foiling the conspiracies of the anti- liberation forces for building a developed country free from terrorism, militancy and drugs. Another report adds: LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Engineer Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain said on Friday Bangladesh is the role model of development in the world due to the earnest efforts of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The minister said this as the chief guest at a discussion on the occasion of a 3-day development fair-2018 held on Govt. Rajendra College premises here tonight. He said Bangladesh has achieved an unprecedented development under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Faridpur Deputy Commissioner Ommey Salma Tanzia presided over the function. Zilla Parishad Chairman Lokman Hossain Mridah, Sadar Upazila Chairman Khandker Mohtesham Hossain Babor, Superintendent of Police (in charge) Syed Mostofa Kamal, Faridpur district Awami League president advocate Subol Chandra Saha, secretary Syed Masud Hossain and principal of Government Rajendra College Professor Mosharraf Ali, among others, were present on the occasion.
