WaterAid UK Chief Executive to visit Bangladesh

WaterAid UK Chief Executive Tim Wainwright will arrive in Bangladesh on January 14 for the first time after assuming his responsibility as the Chief Executive of WaterAid UK in 2017. On his visit to the country, Wainwright will be accompanied by a team including Heather Skilling, Trustee of WaterAid UK, Henry Northover, Global Policy Director of WaterAid UK, Erik Harvey, Programme Support Unit Director of WaterAid UK and Savio Carvalho, Global Campaign Director of WaterAid UK. The Chief Executive's visit to Bangladesh will act as a bridge to interact with local and government actors in order to share some of WaterAid's global and local challenges in implementing and achieving SDG 6 targets. The visit is also believed to carve pathways for future collaboration in mutual interest of advancing safe water, sanitation and hygiene for everyone, everywhere by 2030 with key stakeholders in Bangladesh. As part of the visit, Wainwright and his team will be visiting the country programme's interventions which include WaterAid Bangladesh's Faecal Sludge Management plant, public toilet facilities in Dhaka city, safe drinking water dispensing systems at the country's railway stations and WASH situations at the poverty-stricken urban and rural low income communities (LICs).
