Three-day long dev fair begins

Our Correspondent NARSINGDI, Jan 12: The three day (Jan 11-13) Development Fair begins in Narsingdi district and its others six upazilas as else where in all the districts and upazilas of the country to display the ongoing development activities and success of the government. Marking the home coming day of the father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibor Rahaman on 10 January the fair will play all important roles in promoting Government's future plans partnering people in implementing Sustainable Development goals (SDGs) State Minister for water resources Lt Colonel (Retd) Nazrul Island Hiro MP (Birpratik) inaugurated the fair at local Shilpakala Academy here in a huge gathering and enthusiasm with Deputy Commissioner Dr. Shubash Chandra Biswas in the chair. He also visited the stalls set up in the fair. The State Minister in his speech said Bangladesh becomes a role model for development in the world. The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has set up an example of mega development across the country in last nine years. He said the dream of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mojiber Rahaman is going to be achieved. He also said the government allocated Taka five core for digging five rivers in Narsingdi. The state Minister called upon all to work together for development of the country to materialize the dreams of father of the Nation. Deputy Director, Directorate of Women Affairs, Dhaka Sultana Razia, Civil Surgeon Narsingdi Sultana Rezia, Additional Deputy Commissioner (gen) Mozammal Hoque, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rev) Mahabub Hasan Shain, Additional police Super Hasibul Alam, Mayor of Narsingdi Pourashava Kamruzzaman Kamrul and District Multajuddah Commander Motleb Pathen among others were also present in the inaugural session. About 90 stalls of government and non-government organization, Bank, Educational Institutions and other organization take part in the fair seting up their stalls. Earlier a large rally led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) paraded the main roads of the town.
