Seminar held at Primeasia University

The Department of Law of Primeasia University organised a seminar on the Constitution of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh titled: “Autochthonous Constitution of Bangladesh” at its IQAC conference room at Banani in the city recently. Prof. Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury graced the programme as the chief guest while Barrister M Amir-Ul-Islam, the luminary lawyer of Bangladesh Supreme Court, was present at the seminar as the guest speaker. A.K.M. Ashraful Haque, treasurer, and Dr. Nakib Mohammad Nusrullah, advisor of the Department of Law of Primeasia University, were special guests. Samsurddha, head of the Department of Law of Primeasia University, chaired the programme. The main topic of the seminar was Proclamation of Independence of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh. Barrister M Amirul Islam emphasized the indigenous nature of Bangladesh Constitution and described the state of its evolution. He pointed out three value-based terminologies in the constitution such as equality, human dignity and social justice. He also answered few subtle questions from the enthusiastic law students regarding the legal practice and advocacy in Bangladesh. The vice chancellor of PAU emphasized four pillars of our constitution such as Democracy, Socialism, Nationalism and Secularism. Prof. Dr. Nakib M Nasrullah delivered the vote of thanks focusing on the aims and objectives of the Constitution of Bangladesh. Among others, Dr. Sikder Mohammad Anwarul Islam, proctor of the university, Dr. A. R. Khan, head, Department of International Tourism and Hospitality Management (ITHM), Aftab Uddin, senior faculty and all other faculty members and students of the Department of Law were present at the programme.
