KAMPS provides free healthcare

News Report In observance of the World Diabetes Day-2017, the Kidney Awareness Monitoring and Prevention Society (KAMPS), Tuesday provided free health care and distributed medicine to nearly 300 patients. KAMPS, a non-profit voluntary healthcare giving organization organized the free medical camp awareness program at the premises of the KAMPS's central office at Moghbazar in city. Chairman of KAMPS, also Chief Consultant, Department of Nephrology, Labaid Specialsied Hospitals, Dhaka, Prof Dr MA Samad formally inaugurated the day-long program at around 9 am. A 10-member team of physicians, nurses, technicians and volunteers operated the free medical camp. Addressing on the occasion, Prof Dr Samad said lack of proper health knowledge, consumption of adulterated and unsafe food, air and water pollution etc are turning people sick at the early age. "As most of the people are failing to go for treatment due to financial inability so the issue of prevention has become so important today", Samad said. KAMPS Chairman said although KAMPS mainly works on kidney diseases but still the organization come forward to provide healthcare support to poor people in different national days and occasions almost round the year. He said in line with the theme of this year's World Diabetes Day, KAMPS has been doing the best of its capacity to promote and raising awareness among people about changing their life style to remain free from diabetes.
