Every year on the 5th day of September human beings celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr S. Radhakrishnan in India and countries across the globe. Indians have an idea that Dr Radhakrishnan was a former President cum diplomats but in reality and to the intelligentsias he was highly rated international, national philosopher and thinker of repute. If we turn the pages of Indian history in its post independence phase we find that though Radhakrishnan was the President but in reality he was a prolific teacher and thinker to talk about. That is why every year on 5th day of September we celebrate his birthday as Teachers Day but not as birth anniversary of former President of India. From the side of my elite readers mind there might be eruption of curiosity of the elite readers of this kind of piece why and what was the historical background regarding celebrating the day 5th September as Teachers Day by all his ardent admirers to commemorate the celebration of this august day in the history of Indian culture as well as that of South Asian ones. About Dr Radhakrishnan - a philosopher and thinker per excellence: DR S.Radhakrishnan's prolonged innings of 87 and above was indeed prolific. He was a hardcore philosopher and thinker. Having being born in a poor Brahmin family in undivided Madras Presidency in the year 1888 evoked in this pious spirit a feeling of simplicity and amiability towards every sections of the societies. According to this Great Savant, 'acquiring knowledge of different types should be meted in by all of us. Otherwise our feeling of being loneliness and insomnia will eat off badly the vibrancy of our body and mind.' This thought processes of the Great Savant deeply throws a signal to us reading books on all subjects is such a phenomenon that it has now become bible in the mind of all the rational and analytical minded citizens of not only India but also across other parts of the globe. Through reading books we first of all come to know of national as well as international scenarios concerned. According to him, 'the role of education is not just importance to curriculum concerned but also acquiring knowledge of different patterns.' By reading books our mind also becomes broadened and analytical. If we are asked to write on any damn subjects then everything remains within our grip then only the expression comes out from our grey matter at ease. Before and Independence of the country there were philosophers was born but in comparison to other philosophers Dr S.Radhakrishnan's maturity and prowess none of the others could be matched. Till date those who are pursuing their academic career on humanities are all deeply bowed down towards the philosophy of Dr Radhakrishnan. Philosophy of Dr Radhakrishnan: It is indeed a difficult task to throw light about the philosophy of Dr S.Radhakrishnan. Still efforts should be initiated from our side about his philosophical temperament. According to philosophy includes logic, ethics, aesthetics, social philosophy and metaphysics. To be more elaborative it can be interpreted as such that philosophy as a subject should be treated as reasoning with mixture of science and mathematics. Then only we get an extrapolative view of life and universe. That is why till date Dr Radhakrishnan remains deeply embedded in the storehouse of our memories. Aims of education: According to Dr S.Radhakrishnan, the aims of education are nothing but to be closer at The Altar of the Almighty. If we are transparent and pious towards humanity then only the real solace comes upon us. He had many aims of education but among them some of the common ones are stated as follow: An individual must be a man of wisdom and transparency. We must always be religious. The aim of education is nothing but to build up morality and ethics in life. Aim of education also refers to spiritual education. Education also develops proper personality upon self. Why 5th September is celebrated as Teachers Day every year? It was way back in the mid of the decade of sixties when Dr Radhakrishnan was the President of India there was an elite gathering being organized by the ex students alumni of the Department of Philosophy. In that memorable gathering there was congregation by the ex-students of Philosophy. In that gathering Dr Radhakrishnan was present when he appealed to all his students that they should not celebrate as just a celebration ones but rather thenceforth onwards should be celebrated as 'Teachers Day '. Books written by Dr S.Radhakrishnan: Dr S.Radhakrishnan throughout his prolonged innings of 87 years and above wrote various types of books pertaining to social, philosophical and political aspects of India which is still relevant among the students of philosophy. So some of the prominent books written by Dr S.Radhakrishnan are stated as follow: The Principal Upanishads Hindu view of life Search for truth An idealist view of life Eastern religions and Western thought. The concept of man Philosophy of Rabindra Nath Tagore The pursuit of truth Dr S. Radhakrishnan in Bangladesh: Like in India Dr S. Radhakrishnan is equally well known in Bangladesh too. Such as in India savant in the field like Tripurari Chakravarty, Amiya Majumdar, Tripura Shankar Sen Shashtri, Sukumar Sen etc various other legends in the field were very close to Dr Radhakrishnan. Contrarily in Bangladesh legends like Matiur Rahman Shashtri, Dr S.S.Joardar are doing grand job in the field. Relevance of Dr S.Radhakrishnan in today's circumstances: As we are different world which is full of hype still we feel that Dr Radhakrishnan is relevant dearly among us. In every aspect of our social, philosophical and political what he thought does not bear fruit under the present circumstances. Now ethics and transparency has been covered under the debris. In this regard philosophy of Dr Radhakrishnan is deeply relevant among us. Summing up the above views one point should be aptly clear in our mind Dr Radhakrishnan drew such a line which had given new direction for people of diverse walks of life to lead more of morality oriented life which in the ultimate run up to the game transform ourselves to a pleasing and amiable lives. Even poet and Noble Laureate Rabindra Nath Tagore always propagated purity of soul and getting bowed down under the throes of The Almighty concerned. Meagerly celebrating the birthday of this Great Savant should not our sole criteria but rather we should aim to implement all his values for the emancipation of our societies concerned.
