'Expatriates' remittances rejuvenating country's economy'

Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam Sunday said the remittances sent to the country by the expatriates Bangladeshi are rejuvenating the country's economy, reports BSS. "The government is working on providing different kinds of insurances to the expatriates to meet their needs," he said addressing a view exchange meeting at Sydney in Australia organised by Bangladesh High Commission there. The high commission organized the meeting on Wage Honors Welfare Board membership for expatriates Bangladeshi in Australia, according to a release received here this afternoon. Due to lack of correct and full-fledged information about expatriates Bangladeshi, the government could not bring them under the welfare oriented services, the minister said, adding that his ministry has taken an initiative to provide membership of the Wage Honors Welfare Board to the expatriates. Bangladesh High Commissioner to Australia Kazi Imtiaz Hossain delivered welcome address at the function.
