People-friendly public services a must for attaining SDGs

RAJSHAHI, July 16: People-friendly public services and innovative efforts could be the effective means of attaining Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reports BSS. "Freeing all the field level public services from corruptions and anomalies is very important for establishing people's confidence on all tiers of the root-level administrations," said Noor-Ur-Rahman, Commissioner of Rajshahi division. He said this while addressing a discussion at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner here on Saturday as the chief guest with Deputy Commissioner Helal Mahmud Sharif in the chair. Divisional and District Administrations jointly organised the discussion marking the International Public Service Day-2017. Terming officials of the field administration and other line departments as public servants, he said all of them should be committed towards people's welfare as the government is committed to serve people of the country. Additional Commis-sioners Aminul Islam and Jakir Hossain, Director of Local Government Division Shayam Kishore Roy, Zonal Settlement Officer Shafiqul Islam, Executive Engineer of Local Gover-nment Engineering Depa-rtment Golam Mostofa and District Fisheries Officer Subhash Chandra Shaha also spoke on the occasion.
