Muktar Ali blasted unbeaten 52 runs as Kalabagan Krira Chakara brushed aside Victoria Sporting Club by 10-run in the third round of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League held on Friday at BKSP ground-3 in Savar, reports BSS. Muktar, hit four over boundaries and two boundaries during his 27-ball stay on to crease to help his team to set a challenging total of 259 for 6 from their allotted 50 overs after they were invited to bat first by Victoria. Besides, opener Mehrab Hossain Jr (63), Tushar Imran (56) and Tasamul Haque (44) are the notable scorers for Kalabagan. Monir Hossain bagged two wickets for Victoria. Chasing a winning target of 260 runs, Victoria fell short as they were restricted at 249 for 9 in 50 overs, despite a brilliant effort came from the bat of Moinul Islam (75) and Nasiruddin Farque (58). Victoria remained on tract until the 109-run sixth wicket stand between Moinul Shafiul Hayet (64), but Abul Hasan, Muktar Ali and Hamilton Masakadza shared two wickets each to ensure victory for Kalabagan. Muktar Ali of Kalabagan was named the player of the match for his brilliant batting performance. on the day’s another match, magnificent ton by Amit Mujumder enabled scored Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Samity to post a 77-run victory over Partex Sporting Club in the third round of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League held on the day at BKSP ground-4 in Savar. Amit, who was named the player of the match for his impressive innings, scored 101 off 116 balls with nine boundaries and three over boundaries. During the process Amit shared 133 runs 5th wicket stand with Nazmus Sadat (79) that helped them to set up a challenging total of 288 for 8 from their allotted 50 overs after they were put to bat first by Partex. Jubair Ahmed was the most successful bowler as he claimed three wickets for Partex while Nuruzzaman Masum and Mamun Hossain bagged two wickets each. Despite a good start of 70-run opening stand, Partex fell short as they were bundled out for 211 in 45.1 overs with skipper Jubair Ahmed top scored at no 7. Three other batsmen got starts but couldn’t kick on as Ariful Islam, Tanvir Islam and Sadiqur Rahman finished with three wickets apiece. On the day’s other match, spinner Al Amin hauled five-wicket in list A cricket derailed Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited as Prime Bank Cricket Club registered an overwhelming seven-wicket victory in the third round of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League held on the day at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah. Earlier, Al Amin, who was named the player of the match for his fierce bowling spells, laid the foundation for the easy win. He removed opener Tamim Iqbal (46) before accounting Rahmat Shah (24) and Raqibul Hasan (12) in the middle order and tail-enders Kamrul Islam and Enamul Haqque Jnr.
