Rest part of Mouchak- Moghbazar flyover opens soon

News Report The ongoing construction of Moghbazar-Mouchak flyover is moving progressively while it is facing many challenges. The rest part of the flyover will open soon for traffic movement. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina opened 9 kilometers long flyover on 30 March, 2016 located from Satrasta more to Holy Family Hospital in the city, says a press release. At the second stage, Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Khandker Mosharraf Hossain opened another one kilometre of the flyover situated from Bangla Motor to Mouchak Wireless. At last, the remaining part of the flyover of Rampura, Rajarbag and Shantinagar will be opened before June 2017. City dwellers will get huge benefits after full opening of the flyover. The flyover will help to reduce traffic congestion and suffering of the city dwellers as well. Chief Engineer of LGED Shyama Prosad Adhikari said, after entire opening of the flyover traffic congestion will reduce significantly in the areas of Mouchak, Malibag and Shantinagar. It will also save time and hassles of the commuters. He further added LGED works vigorously to achieve vision 2021 declared by the Prime Minister through constructing infrastructure around the country. Time and cost of the project have increased due to extension the length of the flyover, developed separate designs for utilities and high voltage power lines and replacement of the installed facilities to other places provided by various agencies. In addition, the cost has also increased due to install earthquake resistant Pot Bearing Shock Transmission Unit (STU) of the flyover. At present, DPDC has started digging to install a high voltage electric line and the City Cooperation yet to construct drains for sewerage facilities that lead the public sufferings. The road under the flyover could be used as previous since the single pier columns are being constructed.
