Our Correspondent GAIBANDHA, Jan 11: Secretary of the government and member of the Planning Commission AN Shamsuddin Azad Chowdhury in a function here today said Bangladesh is going to be a fully digitized country before 2021 for proper guidelines of the government. "The government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly since 2009 to attain the cherished goal of building digital Bangladesh side by side with changing the socio-economic condition of the country's people", he said. Secretary AN Shamsuddin Azad Chowdhury made the comments while addressing seminar entitled "Sheikh Hasina's Special Initiative: Digital Bangladesh" organized by district administration on Independence Square of the town here on Wednesday noon as the chief guest on the Development Fair-2017. Deputy chief of the Planning Commission ANM Rokon Uddin, Mayor of Gaibandha Municipality Advocate Shah Masud Jahangir Kabir Milon, and senior assistant police super Khairul Alam were present as the special guests while deputy commissioner M. Abdus Samad presided over the ceremony. A revolutionary on digital has started in the country and the people from all section were getting the benefit of the digitized though a section of people criticized about the digital earlier and said it would not be possible in Bagnladesh, he also said. Our rate of poverty had come down and Bangladesh left behind neighboring countries in various social indicators and had already attained the status of lower middle income country, he added. Bangladesh had become a model of development in the world as the country had attained most of the targets of Millennium Development Goals successfully; he said adding that the targets of Sustainable Development Goals would be achieved by 2030 which had been taken to eradicate extreme poverty. Terming Sheikh Hasina as a positive attitude PM he urged all to help her government from their respective positions maintain the present pace of development to turn into middle income digital Bangladesh. Earlier, additional deputy commissioner (General) M. Shamsul Azam made a welcome speech and a power point presentation on the subject was done by assistant programmer M. of the DC office Toufiqur Rahman. All the district level officials, senior bankers, invited guests, and town elite including the journalists of print and electronic media took part in the seminar.
