Human chain to stop commercialisation in education Human chain to stop commercialisation in education News Desk
Lion Md. Gani Mia Babul, central president
of Bangabandhu Research Council, said,
trade is going on in the name of education
in the country. This education trade must
stop soon.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a
human chain organised by Bangladesh
Education Observer Society in front of the
National Press Club on Thursday morning on
the occasion of the Education Day to
demand restoration of discipline in
education.
“At present there is no effective
education policy in Bangladesh. Education
is going on in multiple streams. Education
has been turned into a commodity. In order
to make the development of the country
sustainable, discipline must be brought
back in the field of education,” said he.
He added that the Qudrat-i-Khuda Education
Commission formed during the Bangabandhu
regime gave emphasis on single-channel,
technical and non-communal education
system. But the current curriculum is
riddled with fundamentalist and communal
ideologies.
Presided over by Bangladesh Education
Observer Society chairman principal M
Shariful Islam, the programme was
addressed by among others NAP Bhasani
chairman Mostaq Ahmed Bhasani, Jatiya
Swadhinata Party chairman Md. Mizanur
Rahman Mizu, Anisur Rahman Desh, Swapan
Kumar Saha, Dr. Syed Al-Amin Roman, Md.
Sajjadur Rahman, Md. Mahfuzur Rahman, Mrs.
